Responsible for protection of the public through the enforcement of state laws and city ordinances. Essential functions include: responding to calls of service; patrolling assigned area; and excellent communication skills. Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License with a clean driving record for the last 36 months. Prefer two-year college degree. Applicants must be able to meet the minimum requirements for a law enforcement officer. As of 6/16/09 Fort Myers Police Department will only accept Florida certified (Police Officers) until further notice.

Position will be responsible for assisting with setup and cleanup of all programs including camps, birthday parties, special events, and hands-on workshops. Position will assist with clerical duties as needed (faxes, copies, files, etc.), maintenance staff as needed (light cleaning), animal care as needed, and facilitating exhibits.
